Overview of Project:
Project 2 was all about Perspective. This time for the project I decided to partner up. My partner and I decided to use this opportunity to discover the how artist's talk about social issues through song. With this we dissected their perspective of the social issue and how was song used to get a point across. The social issue that we decided to focus on was racism. For this project we analyzed different songs from different genre and even made one of our own song.
Art
For Art we decided to make a song about our personal perspectives and how it's like to live in the world and being a black women. My song was more about personal feelings.
Song lyrics:
I said I tried to fit in
I tried to play the roll with them
I tried to be somebody
but still judged by my skin
What I gotta do to fit in this world
Cause I’m nothing but a baby… a innocent girl
They say they wanna hang me by my skin
But I’m black and I'm proud
And I’m going to win
Cause Im winner baby
See Im a hustla baby
And I got you baby
You don't like my skin
Song lyrics:
I said I tried to fit in
I tried to play the roll with them
I tried to be somebody
but still judged by my skin
What I gotta do to fit in this world
Cause I’m nothing but a baby… a innocent girl
They say they wanna hang me by my skin
But I’m black and I'm proud
And I’m going to win
Cause Im winner baby
See Im a hustla baby
And I got you baby
You don't like my skin
After crafting my lyrics to my personal perspective. In GarageBand, I combined loops to go with my lyrics . After a few attempts of recording instead of singing I decided to speak the lyrics. It turns out this gave my song more of a personal tone.

History
For History we decided to map out a timeline of civil right laws. The timeline had laws from the years of 1868 to 1968.

To incorporate perspective I wrote about how I truly felt about some of the laws passed. One of my personal opinions state how although I'm happy the law in 1870 gave Africans Americans the right to vote I wasn't to happy on the fact the literacy test was required to be passed before voting for some in certain states.
Literacy test for Louisiana.
